This collection consists of photographic and architectural records and ledgers that document the work of the Reniger Construction Company of Lansing, Michigan. The records begin in 1916, when Orea "Orrie" Reniger moved his family and business to Lansing. By 1989 the company was run by the third generation of Renigers and it received centennial business recognition from the state of Michigan in that year. Eleven bound volumes of photographs documenting a number of construction projects in the Lansing area make up the majority of this collection. The photographs were taken by the R. C. An oral history from Hank Reniger, the owner of Reniger Construction Company, which was responsible for significant commercial construction projects in the greater Lansing area. Mr. Reniger was interviewed by Geneva Kebler Wiskemann at a building that was then in use as his private museum collection, 317 E. Stebbins Real Estate Collection - 1992-01-001

This collection consists of nearly 400 boxes of real estate listing cards and other material for addresses throughout the greater Lansing area, including both commercial and residential properties. It was created in the course of business by the Advance Realty Co. of Lansing, founded by C. Rowland Stebbins. Records make up two series: standard (card) files, and large files. The 4" x 6" card format was a common way real estate listings were recorded and shared by agencies, especially in the 1950s and beyond with the advent of simple card and photo printing systems. This series of the Stebbins Real Estate Collection is the main portion of real estate records, including over 300 boxes of address files. Materials are organized by street address. A typical address file will include at least one of the following: -Photograph of property -Negative (usually Kodak Brownie format) of property -Sales listing card, detailing the structure, lot, location, any notes on showing the property for agents, notes on sale price and date. This series of the Stebbins Real Estate Collection is the second largest portion of the materials, consisting of 27 boxes of address files. Materials are organized by street address.
